Celebrate romance and great music with the Max Wellman big band. Wellman will be fronting a group full of the best jazz musicians in the state as he celebrates the release of his new album, 'Just in Time'. Songs from the album will be performed throughout the evening, featuring new arrangements by Damani Phillips & Dave Rezek as well as performances by legendary singer Tina Haase Findlay.
The group is led by acclaimed trumpeter and arranger Dave Rezek, a local stalwart who has performed with the Grammy-nominated Darcy James Argue's Secret Society. Tina Haase Findlay will also be on hand to celebrate the evening.
Tickets are scarce for this very intimate space and can be found at maxwellmanmusic.com. The Basement at the Des Moines Social Club has been hosting events for a few months now and has been recently compared to esteemed jazz dives such as the Village Vanguard in New York. A full bar will be available throughout the concert.
